Final intro

 


It's Dartamian Dorelien the 10th grader again. The first two projects were so much fun. I was really interested in all the cool and fun activities that we participated in within the class. I’m excited to get to work on this final task and learn new technological skills. I’ve always been intrigued on the editing my group and I were able to do. Also all the videos that were created. I feel that with this class’s final task I will be able to expand my knowledge and use it to benefit me. I love to watch many movies and tv shows so this class became even more interesting over time. I would love to make my final project look like how professional movies and shows are produced. I know a lot of hard work and many different roles are need to get that outcome. A good film is my goal and I’m going to do my best to get it done. I loved the way that as an actor I  really had to become a new person and portray the character’s emotions. The way that you have to embody a whole new character is very difficult. This class has helped me to look at the world in a new perspective. I’m now doing something that I’m not used to doing and that I enjoy. I love the fact that I’ve been able to use teamwork to create amazing projects. I feel that me to bringing on one or two people allowed for more ideas and a great execution. I have been able to use my big imagination and lots of my creativity. I hope I can take all of my ideas and knowledge from my last amazing projects and make an even better final task. I feel like I have all the knowledge I need to film the best final task. I hope I can incorporate all I’ve learn to do a very nice job on all my filming. I have high expectations for this final project and can’t wait to see it completed.

Movie Conventions Blog: Knives Out

  This movie contains many close-up shots on individual character's faces. Usually mystery movies consist of close-up shots to show facial expressions of the character. Typically fear, anger, and sadness are the emotions showed. However, In Knives Out, the characters tend to have confused facial expressions because they clues they run into do not make sense to them. Also, the diegetic sound in this film is similar to traditional mystery movies because of the startling ambient sounds. For example, when the detective is walking through the house, the floorboards creek and clock ticks loudly.                     I really love the low angles in this movie because it shows me which characters are the powerful ones. Normally, low angles are used to portray superiority in a villain but in this case it can apply to the detective. Also, the establishing shot at the start of the movie sets the tone perfectly. It starts out by showing the old mansion in the middle of nowhere with gray skies.

Title Website Research

         The website Art of the Title is a title art website that details and describes the titles sequences. The website conveys these title sequences by showcasing a major story, above this page is a search bar that allows the searcher to look for specific directors and producers. At the bottom of the page the website features stories detailing major things happening in the title design industry. This website also features classic title designs in the search bar along with recommended title screens. Another cool feature of this website is that it allows the viewer to view all title themes in a grid view. These features make the website really useful and the extensive amount of films combined with the articles written about them make this website great for researching titles. However despite all of these features it can be difficult to find movies of a specific genre which mitigates a lot of the websites pros.
